Garrett & Alisha's wedding

We gathered as a Smith family in the Logan temple on Wed. Sept 7th for Garrett & Alisha's (Norman, from Paradise, UT) wedding. It was a wonderful experience to be there with my family.

Garrett and Alisha are a terrific couple. It truly was a glimpse of heaven as we witnessed this radiant couple sealed for time and all eternity in the House of the Lord.

Geoff, Peggy, Garrett, Alisha, Jessica, Jamie and Becca. I love this good family!

The weather was perfect. We enjoyed attending a delicious luncheon afterwards where the couple honored those in attendance and expressed how they had helped them prepare for this event in their lives. Peggy is with Norene, Andrea, Kassidy, and Laurin.

Cousins Kassidy, Micah, Wes Curtis (friend of Micah's), and Jessica were in attendance.

Recently married Kysha & David Dymock. His parents, Wayne & Julie Dymock are dear friends that we knew when we first moved to Gresham, who are now in Paradise. Grandma Julia opened her home to all of us in-between the luncheon and reception. We are so thankful to have her with us.

Always smiling, Julie with Abby, Meredith's oldest. She was there with her 6-week old Grant, too.

It was a treat for me to be with my siblings. We missed Kathi who is busy with two new granddaughters.

You can't take a picture of my three brothers without Randy & Geoff on their tip toes so they look taller than Roger. What great brothers!

After the reception we drove to Paul & Linda's (Gary's Johns' parents) home to spend the night. They fed us a delicious meal from their garden and we enjoyed visiting with them.

The next morning we were off to BYU-I to move Julia into her apt. She is roommates with her cousin Jamie. They will have a fun semester.

We drove by the Rexburg, ID temple. It was beautiful! What a blessing to have the temple so close by for the students to attend often. We drove on to the Idaho Falls area and met with a prospective customer, then headed home. We had a fun, but fast trip, 4 days and 2000 miles.

After our Reliv Quarterly Training on Sat. I attended the Baby Shower for Vivi. Jennel Atkinson was in our ward in Florida. She still calls Crismon, "My Bishop," as she joined the church at that time. She is in Vivi's ward in Portland and was there at the shower. Vivi has two weeks left but still looks small, but beautiful! It was so fun to have Ondalynn here, too. That evening I tended the Vance's while Ondalynn & Gary attended their Stake Conf. meetings. I love having family close by!

Yesterday was the 10th Anniversary of 9/11. We'll never forget that day when the Twin Towers in NY were hit by jet planes and collapsed, then the Pentagon was hit, and a plane down in Pennsylvania due to terrorist attacks on our country. We loved hearing the tribute on the Spoken Word Broadcast with the Tabernacle Choir. It was very moving. I felt such a love for our country as I put our flag out that day and reflected on the sacrifice of so many for our freedom. We were inspired by Elder Dallin Oaks' talk to the YSA that evening. He talked about Truth and Tolerance. He warned us to be prepared for what is to come. We have a battle to fight to protect our religious freedoms in this land.
