The Vance's are moving to the Portland area!!!

We are so very excited that Gary was offered a great job with Holland Residential in Vancouver, WA, as the Real Estate Development Director. He flew in to Portland last week to interview and meet those involved in the company. Then up to Seattle to the main headquarters and interviewed there as well. We knew that Gary and Ondalynn really wanted to come west to be closer to family, but we had no idea that they could possibly live close to us! We are so thrilled! We're grateful for this wonderful blessing to have these four precious grandchildren here to enjoy. I love my life!

Julia flew to Maryland yesterday to rescue Ondalynn during this busy time of trying to get their townhouse rented, pack, clean and all the many things that need to happen before they move. Most of all, her assignment is to keep the kids happy. They love her so that will be the easy part. It was so nice that Julia had a break from her semesters and had these weeks available to help Ondalynn. We're glad that the siblings love to be with each other and help one another out.

Dad spends many hours of his day in this chair, on the phone, using the computer communicating with many people for our business, as the Bishop of the YSA ward, and hours doing community service, too. Last Sunday there was some extra time in our Sacrament Meeting. Dad had felt inspired to share the story about his name "Crismon" and how his ancestor, Charles Crismon, had to give up his family, and the original spelling of his name to join the church.  As the Bishop he pronounced a beautiful blessing on the members of the ward according to their faithfulness. The spirit was very strong and I don't know when I've heard a Bishop speak with such power. Many were in tears and comments were shared later how deeply they were affected by his message. He serves these young people so faithfully, spending hours on Sunday and during the week in interviews and service to them. He would never share these thoughts.

Julia has a love for older people. She was a manager of "Adopt a Grandparent" at BYU-I. This week she visited Ella Holt, a 99 year old sister in our Walters Hill Ward that Julia adores. Ella has faithfully written each of her 5 sons and their wives every week for years and years and her sons have never missed a week in writing or calling her! They are a great family. She grew up in Fielding, UT and knew my Dad and his family.

Sometimes are Friday nights are with Clark and Daisy while we give Vivi & Brett a date. We don't do it as often as we would like, but it's great fun when we do. A few weeks ago we spent most of the evening at the park with them. This last Friday we had a free stay at a nice hotel by the airport. It was a quick, but relaxing time away from the pressures of home.

Several weeks ago we had the privileged of spending the day with Steve Hastings, the VP of National Sales for Reliv. Such a good family man, very humble and interested in each one of us.

We're excited that our newest product 24K was chosen for the "Stevie Award" as the Best New Consumer Product of the year! We're not surprised, this is the best energy drink out there. No caffeine, no sugar, 5 calories and excellent for mental focus and stress relief. We love it! There are 24 active ingredients to nourish the brain.

Julia's home!

We're so happy to have Julia back home! She had her best semester ever in all areas, academics, service, "Adopt a Grandparent" manager, secured a job as a secretary in the Religion Dept. for the fall semester, challenging herself to do things she didn't think she could do, Lazy Ironman Triathlon, Financial Literacy Program, helped to established it, and much more. It's so fun to have her home. She's baking oatmeal cookies at the moment! While she was on the deck studying her scriptures this evening she hear noises like children talking. She looked over the railing to the backyard below and this is what she saw

a family of five raccoons starring up at her. They soon ran to one of our trees up they went except the biggest one who stayed below keeping an eye on us. It was evident that they were wanted our raspberries. Dad soon came home from interviews and scared them off to protect his berries.

New edition to the family

Needed a car. 2004 KIA Optima, 17,000 miles, still smells like a new car! It will be nice to make that road trip in Sept. to Utah for Garrett Smiths wedding and to take Julia back to BYU-I. Fun!
