Vivi and children move in

The following is a letter we shared with all our children.

Dear Family,

We have been “on the run” since we returned home from our terrific trip back east to visit Meredith & Bryan’s family and Dallin & Janelle’s family. We loved every minute with them and those adorable grandchildren. They are both doing great, and we were spoiled and hosted so well.

We helped Vivi move into our home on Friday, Aug. 16-17th.  It has been pretty intense, but gratefully it’s coming together well. Sat., Ondalynn, Sydney, & Julia worked a miracle organizing all the rooms and getting Vivi set up. Gary and the boys had come the weekend before and hauled lots of boxes of books and things to DI. We’re glad the Vance’s wanted the hockey table, so it’s still in good use. The “dust is beginning to settle” and Dad and I wanted to express our deep appreciation to all of you.

I don’t know how we would have made it through this divorce process without Gary Vance’s detailed attention to the fine print and knowing how to work with attorney’s and legal matters. He’s so good at what he does! Gary has spent endless hours pouring over all the details and guiding Vivienne and all of us through this process. The attorney was very impressed with Gary. She had to be spot on, or Gary would catch it. :)

We can’t thank the Vance’s enough for ALL they have done to support Vivienne beginning back on Dec. 26th when she and the children “moved in” for a week and they took care of them, and then that love and support has been constant ever since. Thank you so much dear Vance family.

We also express our appreciation to all of you for your tremendous support to Vivienne through your fasting and prayers, your phone calls, your generosity to Vivi in many ways. We are blessed to have so many that surround and help us in times of need.

Vivienne has been amazing through all of this. She has taken each challenge and handled it so well. She has gone through some of the hardest experiences of life, all in one week, finalizing a divorce and moving. She has been working so hard to dejunk, pack, unpack, look for a job, register her children in school, clean her house, and still has found time to help friends with their children.

There’s many challenges ahead, but we can’t tell you how grateful we are to be at this point. The Vance’s put on a celebratory dinner for Vivienne last Sunday with all the extras that made it so nice; fine china, goblets, sparkling cider, a delicious meal that Sydney & Julia served us, flowers, etc. We all cheered with relief that this is over. Once the judge reviews it and signs the divorce papers, it will be finished. Hopefully, that will happen in the next few weeks.

Dad and I are so grateful that each of our children and their spouses have talents and abilities that bless our lives in so many ways. This has been one of the blessings of having a large family. Each of you has strengths in different areas and you are helping us individually as we go in to our golden years. We are deeply grateful to each one of you for your love and support to us.

Thank you so much for the prayers for Grandpa’s elbow. It has been so sweet to hear the grandchildren pray for him in all their prayers. Those prayers are being answered.

Again, thank you all for everything!
We love you all so much,
Love,
Mom & Dad
